Monday the 26th of September means the last Monday of the month of heritage in South Africa. We’ve enjoyed it a lot and seeing everybody in their traditional attire and being proud of where they come from last Friday was something special. Today we also welcome back the #1 Noxxman Dj Sbu on the show after a week’s absence, which felt like a year. He gave a young shout out to Zola who held it down proper last week, and we echo those sentiments.

On “What Now” on the trends on Twitter, #ArnoldPalmer was trending. The legendary US golfer died yesterday at the age of 87 and the entire sporting fraternity has since been sending messages of condolences. He is hailed as arguably the most important golfer there ever was by some quarters. #BlackCoffee also made it to theMonday trends. This after the heavily talented DJ was caught on camera slapping an individual alleged to be AKA’s road manager. The story is that there was an argument about whose set it is to play/perform, but AKA’s camp has since denied that their man was late for the gig. Either way, violence is never condoned, and shout out to Black Coffee for issuing an apology re the unfortunate incident.

As you know by now, on Mondays we have our EMCM, or Educated Man Crush Monday if this was your first time listening to the show. Today we had a young man by the name of Ndumiso Hadebe. This guy is only 25 and he holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and International from the University of the North West. He’s also studying towards his Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from UNISA. His resume is very long for a 25-year-old, which is testimony to the hard work and achievements that follow his name. He has also won a youth leadership tv show One Day Leader. In a country where youth leadership is so key and has made headlines in the past year or so, it is good to see and hear that the youth is as sober minded as this gentleman and has a good head on those shoulders.

In our last hour of the show we had to congratulate Mr Max who owns a Durban Shisa Nyama , Max’s Lifestyle in Umlazi. It made the list of world’s best restaurants when it won the accolade from the influential Conde Nast Traveller magazine‚ which compiled the list with its network of chefs‚ food writers‚ and foodie tourists.

While we’re congratulating people, let’s not forget our girl Pearl Thusi, who will be making her Quantico debuttonight. This is a US crime-drama. We’re very proud of her. It’s also mam’ Winnie Mandela’s birthday today. Happy Birthday to this giant of a woman. It also happens to be Advocate Dali Mpofu’s birthday. Happy Birthday to him.

That’s our show for today. Let’s do it again tomorrow bright and early at 6am.
